Shruti Haasan recently joined forces with her father, Kamal Haasan , for the music video ' Inimel ,' marking their first-ever joint venture. The project also marked director Lokesh Kanagaraj 's debut as an actor. Following the success of their music video, the father-daughter duo unveiled a video titled " Legacy of Love ," where they are seen talking about love and relationships.

In the video, Kamal candidly shares his perspective on love, acknowledging its tumultuous nature yet expressing the difficulty in relinquishing it. He reflects, "How beautiful is romance and how terribly it ends. And yet you keep fighting for it. Even a person like me, who has renounced most traditions and social constraints, cannot renounce love."

Additionally, the video showcases Kamal and Shruti performing 'Inimel' together. Known for her gothic style, Shruti Haasan is affectionately referred to as "goth papa" by her fans, and she talks about it in the video. When her father asks why she loves goth, Shruti reminisces, "I became a goth girl because of you (Kamal) only. You didn’t raise me like others. You were like, come, be in the mud. Be cool. Listen to this rock music." Shruti further elaborates on her father's unconventional style choices, stating, "And then, for your roles, you had cool hairstyles, beards, and tattoos; it’s all your fault. At home, you were mostly in black, so I thought, that’s the cool uniform, I get it. What you see is not always what you get. The goth fascination I have is because of that."

'Inimel' has been produced by Kamal Haasan and R Mahendran, with direction helmed by Dwarkesh Prabakar. The song's thematic essence delves into the complexities and uncertainties that permeate urban relationships, exploring the spectrum of negative experiences that often accompany them. Through the lens of this couple's journey, it reflects on the intricacies of modern love, where hope and fear intertwine, and where the potential for both heartache and happiness looms large.
